A place to inhabit yourself with tenderness.
I’m Yaneli, a psychologist. I offer individual therapy for adults in English or Spanish, in person in Madrid or online, with an integrative, feminist and creative approach.
What you bring to therapy.
Sometimes we arrive with a name for what’s happening. Other times, only with the feeling that something is heavy. Either is a fine place to start.
- 01AnxietyConstant worry, tension, panic attacks.
- 02Depression and low moodEmptiness, lack of energy or meaning.
- 03Emotional dependencyRelationships that hurt, fear of abandonment, jealousy.
- 04RelationshipsBoundaries, good treatment, love, sexuality and desire.
- 05GriefLoss, breakups, the end of a chapter.
- 06Migration and expat lifeUprooting, adapting, living between two cultures.
- 07Identity and existential crisisQuestions about who you are and where you’re going.
- 08Obsessive thoughts (OCD)Intrusive ideas, rituals, the need for control.
- 09Violence and abuseSupport for survivors, with care and at your pace.
- 10Self-knowledgeWhen there’s no crisis, but you want to know yourself better.
Buentrato
literally “good treatment”, is not a soft word here.
It’s a way of being in therapy.
The term was coined by Fina Sanz, a Spanish psychotherapist and founder of Reencounter Therapy (Terapia de Reencuentro), the school where I trained in Madrid. It’s a model that integrates psychology, sexuality and education with a gender-aware, community-based perspective.
In practice it means something concrete: a space free of judgement, where you never have to share anything you don’t want to, where we go at your pace, and where what you’re going through is understood in relation to your story, your body and your context.
Integrative psychology
I look at the whole person: emotions, thoughts, body, relationships and social context. The tools adapt to you, not the other way round.
Reencounter Therapy
We work on reconnecting with yourself, with others and with your surroundings, placing good treatment at the centre of your relationships.
Gestalt art therapy & play therapy
When words aren’t enough, drawing, play, movement or writing open other paths. It’s never mandatory, and you don’t need to “be good” at art.
Feminist, decolonial lens
The personal is political. Understanding how gender, migration or culture shape you eases guilt and widens your options.

García Ríos
I’m a Mexican psychologist and a migrant myself. I studied psychology at the University of Guadalajara and now live and work in Madrid, where I completed a Master’s in Reencounter Therapy and Buentrato. I’m specialised in Gestalt art therapy and play therapy.
For more than twenty years I’ve supported people in very different settings: individual and group therapy, hospitals, organisations working with women who have experienced violence, child survivors of abuse, refugee women in the UK, and community projects in Mexico, Guatemala, Colombia, Canada and Spain.
All of this has taught me that nobody heals alone, and that care can be learned. I work from a feminist, community-based and decolonial perspective, with listening, play and creativity as allies.
Outside the therapy room you’ll find me travelling, in nature, taking photos or dancing.
“The deepest bonds are not born from effort or demand, but from the permission to be, to play and to inhabit ourselves with tenderness.”Yaneli García Ríos

Does online therapy work as well as in-person therapy?
Yes. Research shows comparable outcomes. What matters most is the therapeutic relationship and having a private, quiet space during the session.
What language are the sessions in?
English or Spanish, whichever feels more comfortable. If you’re bilingual, you can move between both: some things can only be said in one language.
Can I work with you if I live outside Spain?
Yes. Online sessions are open to people in any country, and the calendar shows times in your own time zone.
How long is a session and how often do we meet?
Sessions last 55 minutes. We usually start weekly or fortnightly and adjust together as your process evolves.
How do I know if you’re the right therapist for me?
That’s exactly what the first session is for: getting to know each other and seeing whether you feel comfortable. If I think another professional could help you better, I’ll tell you and point you in the right direction.
Do you work with children or teenagers?
At the moment I only work with adults.
Is it confidential?
Yes. Everything shared in session is protected by professional confidentiality and data protection law.
What if I need to cancel?
You can cancel or reschedule free of charge up to 24 hours before, using the link in your confirmation email.
Any questions?
Write to me about anything: a question, a doubt before booking, or a workshop proposal. I’ll reply within 48 working hours.
